Description

This 3-Cheese Lemon Basil Pizza is light, bright, and loaded with creamy cheeses, fresh basil, and a pop of lemon zest. It’s the perfect mix of tangy, herby, and cheesy – a refreshing take on pizza that’s super easy to make at home.

Ingredients

  • 1 ball of pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • Zest of 1 lemon

  • Juice of 1/2 lemon

  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Fresh basil leaves, for topping

  • Cornmeal or flour, for dusting the pizza peel/pan

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it heats.

  • Roll out pizza dough on a floured surface into a 12-inch round. Transfer to a pizza peel or baking sheet dusted with cornmeal or flour.

  • In a small bowl, mix olive oil and minced garlic. Brush over the dough.

  • Dot the pizza with spoonfuls of ricotta, then sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan evenly over the top.

  • Add lemon zest and a light drizzle of lemon juice over the cheese. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.

  • Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.

  • Remove from the oven and immediately top with fresh basil. Slice and serve hot!

Notes

  • Add thin slices of zucchini or artichokes for extra veggies.

  • Burrata makes a luxurious swap for ricotta.

  • Great on flatbread or naan for a quick weeknight pizza.
