Description

This Bacon Cheeseburger Grilled Cheese combines two all-time classics into one mouthwatering sandwich. Juicy ground beef, crispy bacon, and melted cheddar cheese are layered between buttery, golden-brown bread slices. Perfect for lunch, dinner, or an indulgent snack, this recipe is quick, hearty, and absolutely delicious.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • For the filling:
    • 8 slices of bacon, cooked until crispy
    • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/4 cup ketchup
    • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • For the sandwich:
    • 8 slices of bread (sourdough, white, or your choice)
    • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or 8 slices)
    • 4 tablespoons butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Cook the Bacon:
In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crispy. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to drain.
  2. Prepare the Ground Beef:
In the same skillet, add ground beef and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cook over medium heat, breaking the meat into crumbles, until fully browned. Stir in ketchup and mustard. Mix well, then remove from heat.
  3. Assemble the Sandwiches:
    • Lay out the bread slices. Spread softened butter on one side of each slice.
    • On the unbuttered side of 4 slices, layer shredded cheddar cheese (or 1 slice), cooked ground beef, 2 slices of bacon, and more cheese. Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side facing up.
  4. Grill the Sandwiches:
Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat. Cook each sandwich for 3-4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  5. Serve:
Slice the sandwiches in half and serve warm.

Notes

  • Customize with your favorite cheese, like pepper jack or mozzarella.
  • Add pickles, onions, or tomatoes for extra flavor.
