- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare Chicken: Lay each chicken breast flat and carefully butterfly it by slicing horizontally to create a pocket.
- Stuff Chicken: Place a slice of ham and Swiss cheese inside each pocket, then secure with toothpicks to prevent the filling from spilling out.
- Set Up Breading Station: In one bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, beat the eggs. Place the flour in a third bowl.
- Bread the Chicken: Lightly coat each chicken breast in flour, dip into the beaten eggs, and then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Bake: Place the breaded chicken on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle olive oil over the top for extra crispiness. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165ยฐF (74ยฐC).
- Rest and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
