Ingredients
-
1 ripe banana, mashed
-
1/2 cup natural peanut butter (xylitol-free)
-
1 1/2 cups rolled oats
-
1 egg
-
1/4 cup water (as needed)
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed banana, peanut butter, egg, and oats. Mix well.
-
If the dough is too thick or dry, add a little water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until it comes together.
-
Scoop dough out and shape into logs or stick-like shapes using your hands. You can also roll out the dough and cut into sticks with a knife.
-
Place the sticks on the baking sheet and flatten them slightly.
-
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until they’re firm and golden brown.
-
Let cool completely before serving to your pup.
-
Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days, or refrigerate for longer shelf life.
Notes
-
Always make sure your peanut butter is xylitol-free, as xylitol is toxic to dogs.
-
You can freeze these sticks for up to 3 months — perfect for a cool treat in warm weather.
-
For smaller dogs, shape the dough into mini sticks or coin-sized treats.
