Description

These Banana and Peanut Butter Chewy Sticks are soft, simple, and full of dog-safe ingredients. Made with mashed banana, creamy peanut butter, and oats, they’re the perfect homemade treat for pups who love to chew! No preservatives, no weird stuff — just real food your dog will enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana, mashed

  • 1/2 cup natural peanut butter (xylitol-free)

  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats

  • 1 egg

  • 1/4 cup water (as needed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed banana, peanut butter, egg, and oats. Mix well.

  3. If the dough is too thick or dry, add a little water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until it comes together.

  4. Scoop dough out and shape into logs or stick-like shapes using your hands. You can also roll out the dough and cut into sticks with a knife.

  5. Place the sticks on the baking sheet and flatten them slightly.

  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until they’re firm and golden brown.

  7. Let cool completely before serving to your pup.

  8. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days, or refrigerate for longer shelf life.

Notes

  • Always make sure your peanut butter is xylitol-free, as xylitol is toxic to dogs.

  • You can freeze these sticks for up to 3 months — perfect for a cool treat in warm weather.

  • For smaller dogs, shape the dough into mini sticks or coin-sized treats.
