Ingredients

Units Scale
  • For the Blueberry Syrup:
    • 1 cup fresh blueberries
    • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/2 cup water
  • For the Drink:
    • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice (about 2 limes)
    • 1/4 cup blueberry syrup
    • 1 cup sparkling water or soda
    • Ice cubes
    • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
    • Lime wedges (optional, for garnish)
    • Extra blueberries (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Make the Blueberry Syrup:
    • In a small saucepan, combine the blueberries, sugar, and water.
    • Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the blueberries burst (about 5โ€“7 minutes).
    • Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing gently to extract the liquid. Discard the solids and let the syrup cool completely.
  2. Prepare the Drink:
    • In a glass, add the lime juice and blueberry syrup. Stir to combine.
    • Fill the glass with ice cubes and top with sparkling water or soda. Gently stir again.
    • Garnish with fresh mint, lime wedges, and extra blueberries, if desired.
  3. Serve:
    • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a boozy twist, add 1โ€“2 oz of vodka or gin to the drink.
  • Store leftover blueberry syrup in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more syrup or sugar if needed.
