Description
Boneless chicken wings are a delicious, bite-sized snack perfect for game days or casual gatherings. They are tender chicken pieces, lightly breaded and fried to golden perfection, then coated in your favorite wing sauce. Unlike traditional wings, boneless wings are easier to eat and just as flavorful!
Ingredients
Units
Scale
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup buttermilk (or regular milk)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs or panko (optional for extra crispiness)
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce (or your favorite sauce)
- Ranch or blue cheese dressing (for serving)
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken:ย Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and set aside.
- Prepare the coating:ย In a shallow bowl, mix the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg and buttermilk together.
- Coat the chicken:ย Dredge the chicken pieces in the seasoned flour, shaking off excess. Then, dip them in the egg mixture, and finally, coat them in breadcrumbs (if using) for extra crunch.
- Heat the oil:ย In a large frying pan or deep fryer, heat about 2 inches of oil over medium heat until it reaches 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
- Fry the chicken:ย Fry the coated chicken pieces in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 5-6 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165ยฐF/74ยฐC).
- Sauce the wings:ย Remove the chicken from the oil and drain on paper towels. Toss the fried chicken pieces in your favorite buffalo sauce or wing sauce until evenly coated.
- Serve:ย Serve immediately with ranch or blue cheese dressing on the side for dipping.
Notes
- For a healthier version, you can bake the chicken at 400ยฐF (200ยฐC) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, instead of frying.
- You can also try different sauces like BBQ, honey mustard, or garlic parmesan.
