- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups cooked, shredded or diced chicken
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Add broccoli florets during the last 2 minutes of cooking. Drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
- Slowly whisk in the milk and heavy cream. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in cheddar cheese and Parmesan until melted and smooth.
- Season with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Add the cooked pasta, broccoli, and chicken to the cheese sauce. Stir to combine and heat through.
- Serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

- Use rotisserie chicken for a quick prep.
- Swap broccoli for peas or spinach if preferred.
