For the Colored Jello Cubes:
- 3 boxes (3 oz each) flavored Jello (use different colors like red, green, and blue)
- 3 cups boiling water (1 cup per Jello flavor)
For the Creamy Base:
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin (like Knox)
- 1/2 cup cold water
Instructions
- Prepare the Colored Jello Cubes:
- In separate bowls, dissolve each Jello flavor in 1 cup of boiling water.
- Pour each into a separate dish or small container and refrigerate for at leastย 4 hoursย or until firm.
- Cut the Jello Cubes:
- Once set, cut each Jello flavor into small cubes and gently mix them together in a large dish or mold.
- Make the Creamy Base:
- In a small bowl, sprinkle theย unflavored gelatinย overย ยฝ cup of cold waterย and let it bloom for 5 minutes.
- Addย 2 cups of boiling waterย and stir until dissolved.
- Mix in theย sweetened condensed milkย and let it cool to room temperature.
- Assemble the Dessert:
- Pour the creamy mixture over the Jello cubes in the dish.
- Gently shake the dish to distribute the liquid evenly.
- Chill & Serve:
- Refrigerate for at leastย 4 hours, or until fully set.
- Cut into squares and serve cold.
Notes
- Use aย 9×13-inch dishย for thinner pieces or anย 8×8-inch dishย for thicker slices.
- For a holiday-themed dessert, useย red and green Jelloย for Christmas orย blue and redย for the Fourth of July.
- This can be madeย a day in advance, making it a great make-ahead dessert.
