Description

This creamy, cheesy dip is perfect for dipping your soft pretzels into! With a rich and smooth texture and a sharp cheese flavor, it’s a quick and easy appetizer that everyone will love. Whether you’re serving it at a party or just enjoying a snack, this dip is always a hit!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

  • 1 cup cream cheese (softened)

  • 1/2 cup milk (more if needed for consistency)

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

  2. Add the flour and cook for about 1 minute, stirring constantly to form a roux.

  3. Gradually whisk in the milk and cook for 3–4 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.

  4. Lower the heat and add the softened cream cheese, stirring until it melts completely into the sauce.

  5. Slowly add the shredded cheddar cheese, stirring constantly until the cheese is fully melted and smooth.

  6. Add Dijon mustard (if using), garlic powder, and salt and pepper to taste.

  7. If the dip is too thick, you can add more milk, a tablespoon at a time, to reach your desired consistency.

  8. Serve warm with pretzels and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can use other cheeses like Monterey Jack or a blend of cheddar and mozzarella for a different flavor.

  • For a little heat, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a dash of hot sauce.

  • This dip also works well with chips, crackers, or vegetables.
