Ingredients
-
12 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta
-
1 tbsp olive oil
-
1 lb ground beef
-
1 small onion, finely chopped
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tsp Italian seasoning
-
1/2 tsp paprika
-
Salt and black pepper, to taste
-
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes
-
1/2 cup beef broth (or water)
-
1/2 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
-
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or mozzarella, or a blend)
-
Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Cook the pasta:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook bowtie pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Cook the beef:
In a large skillet or sauté pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until soft. Add ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5–6 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
Add garlic and seasoning:
Stir in garlic, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Make the sauce:
Add tomato sauce and beef broth to the pan. Stir and simmer for 5 minutes. Then stir in the cream and shredded cheese until melted and creamy.
Combine and serve:
Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and stir to coat evenly. Cook 1–2 more minutes to heat through. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve hot!
