- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup dried cherries
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips or chunks
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the dried cherries and chocolate chips or chunks.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto the baking sheet. Bake for 10โ12 minutes, until edges are golden and centers are just set.
- Cool cookies on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
- Chop large dried cherries for even distribution.
- Use a cookie scoop for uniform cookie sizes.
- Do not overbake; cookies should look slightly underdone when removed from oven.
- Dough can be chilled up to 48 hours or frozen for 3 months.
