Description

  • 10 small flour or corn tortillas

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven or prepare the fryer:
    • For baking: Preheat the oven to 425ยฐF (220ยฐC) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    • For frying: Heat about 1 inch of oil in a deep skillet to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
  2. Prepare the filling:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded chicken, shredded cheese, cream cheese, salsa, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, chili powder, and salt. Mix until well combined.
  3. Assemble the taquitos:
    • Warm the tortillas slightly to make them pliable.

    • Roll tightly, securing the seam side down.
  4. Cook the taquitos:
    • For baking: Arrange the taquitos seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly brush or spray with cooking oil. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until crispy and golden.
    • For frying: Fry 2-3 taquitos at a time, seam-side down, until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
