Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken:
    • In a bowl, mix buttermilk and hot sauce. Add chicken pieces and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight for extra tenderness).
  2. Make the Waffle Batter:
    • In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
    • In another bowl, whisk buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  3. Cook the Waffles:
    • Preheat your waffle iron and grease it lightly.
    • Pour small amounts of batter into the waffle iron to make mini waffles. Cook until golden brown.
  4. Fry the Chicken:
