Scale
- For the Brownies:
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- For Dipping and Decorating:
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (or melting chocolate)
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening (optional, for smooth dipping)
- Sprinkles or crushed nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Make the Brownies:
- Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until fully combined.
- Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan.
- Cut the Brownies:
- Once cooled, remove the brownies from the pan and use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes. Set aside the scraps (perfect for snacking!).
- Dip and Decorate:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil in 30-second increments, stirring after each interval until smooth.
- Dip each brownie heart halfway into the melted chocolate, letting the excess drip off.
- Place the dipped brownies on a parchment-lined tray and immediately decorate with sprinkles or nuts, if desired.
- Set and Serve:
- Let the chocolate set at room temperature or place the tray in the fridge for quicker setting.
- Serve and enjoy!
