These Chocolate Dipped Brownie Hearts are the perfect sweet treat for Valentineโ€™s Day, anniversaries, or any occasion when you want to share a little love! Rich, fudgy brownies are cut into adorable heart shapes and dipped in melted chocolate for an extra indulgent dessert. Add sprinkles for a festive touch!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • For the Brownies:
    • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • For Dipping and Decorating:
    • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (or melting chocolate)
    • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening (optional, for smooth dipping)
    • Sprinkles or crushed nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the Brownies:
    1. Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
    2. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth.
    3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until fully combined.
    4. Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
    5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
    6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan.
  2. Cut the Brownies:
    1. Once cooled, remove the brownies from the pan and use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes. Set aside the scraps (perfect for snacking!).
  3. Dip and Decorate:
    1. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil in 30-second increments, stirring after each interval until smooth.
    2. Dip each brownie heart halfway into the melted chocolate, letting the excess drip off.
    3. Place the dipped brownies on a parchment-lined tray and immediately decorate with sprinkles or nuts, if desired.
  4. Set and Serve:
    1. Let the chocolate set at room temperature or place the tray in the fridge for quicker setting.
    2. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor.
  • Brownie scraps can be crumbled over ice cream or used to make brownie truffles.
  • Store brownie hearts in an airtight container for up to 5 days at room temperature or a week in the refrigerator.
