- 40 saltine crackers (or enough to cover a baking sheet)
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (pecans, almonds, or walnuts, optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt (optional)
- Holiday sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven:ย Preheat your oven toย 400ยฐF (200ยฐC). Line aย rimmed baking sheetย with parchment paper or aluminum foil, then lightly grease it with cooking spray.
- Arrange Crackers:ย Lay theย saltine crackersย in a single layer, covering the entire sheet.
- Make Toffee:ย In a saucepan overย medium heat, melt theย butterย andย brown sugar, stirring constantly. Bring to a boil and let it bubble forย 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens.
- Pour Over Crackers:ย Carefully pour the hot toffee over the saltines, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
