Ingredients
Scale
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (about 1 lime)
- 1 teaspoon lime zest
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a hint of spice)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
Instructions
- Prepare the marinade:ย In a small bowl, whisk together honey, garlic, lime juice, lime zest, soy sauce, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper.
- Marinate the salmon:ย Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable bag. Pour the marinade over the salmon and let it sit for 15โ20 minutes.
- Cook the salmon:ย Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the salmon from the marinade (reserve the marinade) and place it skin-side down in the skillet. Cook for 4โ5 minutes, then flip and cook for another 3โ4 minutes until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- Make the glaze:ย Pour the reserved marinade into the skillet. Simmer for 2โ3 minutes until slightly thickened. Spoon the glaze over the salmon.
- Serve:ย Garnish with fresh cilantro and lime wedges. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra crispy skin, make sure the skillet is hot before adding the salmon.
- This recipe pairs well with steamed rice, quinoa, or a fresh green salad.
- If you donโt have fresh lime juice, you can substitute with lemon juice for a slightly different flavor.
