- For the Bread:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 medium apples, peeled and chopped
- For the Cinnamon Swirl:
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven:ย Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease and flour a 9ร5-inch loaf pan.
- Prepare the cinnamon swirl:ย In a small bowl, mix the โ cup of granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon. Set aside.
- Mix the dry ingredients:ย In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- Mix the wet ingredients:ย In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in the vanilla extract and milk.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients:ย Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. Gently fold in the chopped apples.
- Layer the batter:ย Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter. Add the remaining batter on top, followed by the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Use a knife to swirl the cinnamon mixture through the batter.
- Bake:ย Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool and serve:ย Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy!
Notes
- You can use any type of apple you prefer, but Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work best for their balance of sweetness and tartness.
- Feel free to add a drizzle of vanilla glaze on top for extra sweetness.
