- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Pink and blue food coloring
- 1/2 cup cotton candy (optional, for topping or mixing in pieces)
Instructions
- Preheat ovenย to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl,ย cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugarย until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs, vanilla extract, and cotton candy flavoring, mixing until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk togetherย flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Divide the dough into two equal portions. Tint one portion pink and the other blue with food coloring.
- Gently mix the two doughs together to create aย swirled effect, but donโt overmix!
- Scoop dough into 1.5-inch balls and place on the baking sheet aboutย 2 inches apart.
- Bake forย 10-12 minutes, or until edges are set but the center is still soft.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- If desired, press small pieces of cotton candy onto the cookies once theyโre completely cool.
