Description

A creamy, tangy cheese ball loaded with cranberries, pecans, and herbs. This easy appetizer is perfect for gatherings and pairs well with crackers or fresh veggies.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries, chopped
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
  • 2 tbsp green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

For Coating:

  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries, chopped
  • 1/4 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, cranberries, pecans, green onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Form the mixture into a ball, wrapping it in plastic wrap. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour (or up to overnight) to firm up.
  • In a small bowl, mix the coating ingredients: chopped cranberries, pecans, and parsley.
  • Remove the cheese ball from the plastic wrap and roll it in the coating mixture until evenly covered.
  • Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve. Pair with crackers, pretzels, or fresh veggies.

Notes

  • Make ahead: The cheese ball can be made up to 2 days in advance. Keep it wrapped in plastic and coat just before serving.
  • Substitutions: Swap pecans for walnuts or almonds if preferred. You can also use goat cheese or blue cheese for a stronger flavor.
