Description

These crispy cream cheese wontons are a delicious appetizer that’s super easy to make at home. They’re golden on the outside, creamy on the inside, and always a crowd favorite. Perfect for parties, game nights, or when you’re just craving something crunchy and cheesy.

Ingredients

Units Scale

8 oz cream cheese, softened

2 green onions, finely chopped

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

24 wonton wrappers

Water (for sealing the wrappers)

Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

In a medium bowl, mix cream cheese, green onions, garlic powder, sugar, and salt until smooth.

Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Add about 1 teaspoon of filling to the center.

Dip your finger in water and wet the edges of the wrapper. Fold into a triangle or bring all corners to the center and pinch to seal.

Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot over medium heat (about 350°F).

Fry the wontons in batches, about 2-3 minutes each, or until golden brown and crispy.

Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

Serve hot with sweet chili sauce or soy sauce.

Notes

Don’t overfill the wrappers or they might burst while frying.

Make ahead tip: You can assemble the wontons and freeze them before frying.

Try adding a bit of crab meat for a tasty twist!
