- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook cavatappi pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sautรฉ for 1 minute.
- Whisk in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
- Gradually add milk and cream, whisking continuously until smooth and slightly thickened.
- Stir in cheddar and Parmesan cheese until melted and sauce is creamy.
- Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using).
- Add cooked pasta to the sauce and stir until fully coated.
- Serve warm, garnished with chopped parsley.
