Description

This Creamy Garlic Parmesan Chicken features tender chicken breasts smothered in a rich, garlicky Parmesan sauce. It’s a quick and flavorful one-pan dish that’s ideal for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
    • Season both sides of the chicken breasts with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  2. Sear the Chicken:
    • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil.
    • Once the oil is hot, add the chicken breasts.
    • Cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
    • Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Sauce:
    • In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium.
    • Add butter and let it melt.
    • Stir in minced garlic and sautรฉ for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
    • Sprinkle in the flour and cook, stirring constantly, for about 1 minute to form a roux.
    • Gradually whisk in the chicken broth until smooth.
    • Pour in the heavy cream, stirring continuously.
    • Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and cook until the sauce thickens slightly, about 3-4 minutes.
    • Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is smooth.
    • Season the sauce with additional salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Combine and Serve:
    • Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them.
    • Allow the chicken to simmer in the sauce for an additional 2-3 minutes to absorb the flavors.
    • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a thicker sauce, let it simmer a bit longer to reduce further.
  • Serve this dish over pasta, mashed potatoes, or alongside steamed vegetables to complete the meal.
