Units
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the Italian seasoning and season with salt and pepper. Cook for an additional minute.
- Add the orzo pasta to the skillet and stir to combine with the beef mixture.
- Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Cover the skillet and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until the orzo is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
- Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese, mixing well until the sauce is creamy and smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Serve the creamy ground beef orzo hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
Notes
- For a lighter version, you can use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, add a bit more Parmesan cheese or reduce the broth before adding the cream.
- Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for extra flavor and nutrition.
