Description

This quick and easy Crispy Air-Fried Halloumi with Honey Drizzle is the perfect balance of salty and sweet. The air fryer gives the halloumi a golden, crispy crust while keeping the inside soft and chewy. A light drizzle of honey adds just the right touch of sweetness, making it a perfect appetizer, snack, or side dish.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 8 oz halloumi cheese, sliced into 1/2-inch thick pieces
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional, for a spicy kick)
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh herbs (like mint or parsley), for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and let it preheat for 3 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Halloumi: Pat the halloumi slices dry with a paper towel. Lightly brush both sides with olive oil and sprinkle with black pepper.
  3. Air Fry the Halloumi: Place the halloumi slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 7–8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy on both sides.
  4. Drizzle with Honey: Remove the halloumi from the air fryer, transfer to a serving plate, and immediately drizzle with honey.
  5. Garnish & Serve: Add a sprinkle of chili flakes for a spicy touch and garnish with fresh herbs if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Serving Tip: Pairs well with a fresh salad, warm pita, or as part of a mezze platter.
  • Make it Vegan: Substitute halloumi with a plant-based halloumi alternative and use agave syrup instead of honey.
  • Extra Flavor: Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice before serving for a zesty kick.
