- 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs (panko recommended for extra crunch)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix mozzarella, cheddar, garlic powder, and paprika until combined. Shape into small balls (about 1 tablespoon each) and place them on a tray. Chill in the freezer for 15-20 minutes.
- Prepare a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with salt and pepper.
- Remove cheese balls from the freezer. Roll each ball in flour, dip in egg, and coat thoroughly with breadcrumbs. Repeat the egg and breadcrumb steps for an extra crispy layer.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Fry the cheese balls in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
