Description

A delightful snack thatโ€™s perfect for any occasion! These bites are golden and crispy on the outside while oozing with gooey, melted cheese on the inside. Whether served as an appetizer or a quick party snack, theyโ€™re a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs (panko recommended for extra crunch)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix mozzarella, cheddar, garlic powder, and paprika until combined. Shape into small balls (about 1 tablespoon each) and place them on a tray. Chill in the freezer for 15-20 minutes.
  • Prepare a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with salt and pepper.
  • Remove cheese balls from the freezer. Roll each ball in flour, dip in egg, and coat thoroughly with breadcrumbs. Repeat the egg and breadcrumb steps for an extra crispy layer.
  • Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Fry the cheese balls in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Remove from oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • You can use a mix of cheeses for different flavors.
  • Add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the breadcrumb mix for a spicy kick.
  • Serve with marinara sauce, ranch, or honey mustard for dipping.
