Description

These dill-seasoned oyster crackers are a delightfully savory snack, perfect for parties, soups, or just nibbling by the handful. Crisp, buttery crackers are tossed with aromatic spices and fresh dill, then baked for the ultimate munchable treat that’s bursting with flavor. Quick to prepare and addictively delicious!

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Crackers

  • 2 (9-ounce) bags oyster crackers

For the Seasoning Mix

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil (or melted unsalted butter for richer flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon dried dill weed
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 (1-ounce) packet ranch dressing mix
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven โ€“ Set your oven to 250ยฐF (120ยฐC). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare the Seasoning โ€“ In a medium bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, dried dill weed, garlic powder, onion powder, ranch dressing mix, and any optional seasonings until fully blended and fragrant.
  3. Toss the Crackers โ€“ Place the oyster crackers in a very large mixing bowl. Pour the seasoned oil mixture over the top. Use a spatula or large spoon to gently toss the crackers until they are evenly coated on all sides.
  4. Bake the Crackers โ€“ Spread the seasoned crackers in a single, even layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20โ€“25 minutes, stirring once halfway through, until the crackers are crisp and lightly golden.
  5. Cool and Serve โ€“ Remove the crackers from the oven and let them cool completely on the baking sheet. Once cooled, transfer to an airtight container to store, or serve immediately as a snack or soup topper.

Notes

  • For a richer taste, use melted butter in place of oil.
  • These are delicious warm from the oven, but their flavor improves as they cool and rest.
  • Store leftover crackers in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
  • You can adjust the herbs and spices to suit your taste!
