Description

This Easy Banana Caramel Dessert is the perfect quick fix when you’re craving something warm, sweet, and comforting. Caramelized bananas are cooked in a buttery brown sugar sauce and served over ice cream, pancakes, toast, or just on their own. It’s like bananas foster made even easier—no fancy skills needed!

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • Pinch of salt

  • Optional: 1/4 tsp cinnamon or a splash of rum extract

  • Optional toppings: vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, crushed nuts, or crushed graham crackers

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter:
In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until bubbly.

  2. Add sugar & flavoring:
Stir in the brown sugar, vanilla, salt, and cinnamon (if using). Cook for 1–2 minutes until it turns into a smooth caramel sauce.

  3. Add the bananas:
Gently add the banana slices to the skillet. Cook for 1–2 minutes per side, until they’re soft and caramelized but not mushy.

  4. Serve:
Spoon the warm bananas and caramel sauce over ice cream, pancakes, French toast, or enjoy as-is!

Notes

  • Use slightly firm bananas so they hold their shape.

  • Add chopped pecans or walnuts for a crunchy twist.

  • For a dairy-free version, use coconut oil or vegan butter.
