Description

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) red velvet cake mix
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
  • 36 Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, combine the red velvet cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until well blended and a dough forms.
  • Roll the dough into 1-inch balls. Roll each ball in granulated sugar to coat.
  • Place the dough balls about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cookies are set but still soft in the center.
  • Immediately press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie while they’re still warm.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • To prevent the Hershey’s Kisses from melting, place the cookies in the refrigerator for a few minutes after adding the Kisses.
  • For added texture, consider rolling the dough balls in colored sanding sugar instead of plain granulated sugar.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
