- 9 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil and sauté onion until translucent. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Add ground beef, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with egg until well combined.
- In a 9×13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce. Layer 3 noodles, 1/3 of the ricotta mixture, 1/3 of the meat sauce, and 1/3 of the mozzarella. Repeat layers twice more.
- Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.

- Substitute ground beef with Italian sausage for a spicier flavor.
