Description

This Easy Marinated Asian Grilled Chicken is packed with bold flavors from a simple, homemade marinade. It’s juicy, slightly sweet, and a little tangyโ€”perfect for grilling! Serve it with rice, veggies, or a fresh salad for a delicious meal.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (optional, for spice)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Make the Marinade โ€“ In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, sriracha, and black pepper.
  • Marinate the Chicken โ€“ Place chicken in a large resealable bag or shallow dish. Pour marinade over the chicken, ensuring it’s well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 8 hours for deeper flavor).
  • Preheat the Grill โ€“ Heat the grill to medium-high (about 400ยฐF). Lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking.
  • Grill the Chicken โ€“ Remove the chicken from the marinade and let any excess drip off. Grill for about 6-7 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 165ยฐF.
  • Rest & Serve โ€“ Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes, then garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute chicken breasts with boneless thighs for an even juicier result.
  • If you donโ€™t have a grill, cook the chicken in a cast iron skillet over medium heat for the same time.
  • Serve with steamed rice, stir-fried veggies, or inside a wrap for a quick meal.
