Ingredients
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp rice vinegar or lime juice
1 tbsp brown sugar or honey
1โ2 tsp sriracha or chili garlic sauce (optional, to taste)
1 tsp grated fresh ginger (or 1/2 tsp ground ginger)
1 clove garlic, minced or grated
1/2 cup warm water (more as needed for desired consistency)
1 tbsp toasted sesame oil (optional for added depth)
Instructions
-
Mix the base:
In a medium bowl, combine peanut butter, soy sauce, vinegar or lime juice, brown sugar, sriracha, ginger, and garlic. -
Thin it out:
Slowly whisk in the warm water, a little at a time, until the sauce is smooth and reaches your desired consistency (thicker for dipping, thinner for drizzling). -
Finish with flavor:
Stir in sesame oil if using, and adjust seasoning to tasteโadd more lime for tang, sugar for sweetness, or sriracha for heat.
-
Serve:
Use immediately or store in the fridge for up to 5 days. Warm slightly and stir before serving if chilled.
Notes
-
Great with grilled chicken, tofu, shrimp, or tossed with noodles.
-
For a creamier texture, blend in a splash of coconut milk.
-
Make it gluten-free with tamari instead of soy sauce.
