Description

This Five-Minute Peanut Satay Sauce is creamy, nutty, and bursting with bold Southeast Asian-inspired flavor. Made with just a handful of pantry staples, itโ€™s perfect for dipping spring rolls, tossing with noodles, or drizzling over grilled chicken or veggies. Quick, easy, and always a hit!

Ingredients

Units Scale

1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp rice vinegar or lime juice

1 tbsp brown sugar or honey

1โ€“2 tsp sriracha or chili garlic sauce (optional, to taste)

1 tsp grated fresh ginger (or 1/2 tsp ground ginger)

1 clove garlic, minced or grated

1/2 cup warm water (more as needed for desired consistency)

1 tbsp toasted sesame oil (optional for added depth)

Instructions

  • Mix the base:
In a medium bowl, combine peanut butter, soy sauce, vinegar or lime juice, brown sugar, sriracha, ginger, and garlic.

  • Thin it out:
Slowly whisk in the warm water, a little at a time, until the sauce is smooth and reaches your desired consistency (thicker for dipping, thinner for drizzling).

  • Finish with flavor:
Stir in sesame oil if using, and adjust seasoning to tasteโ€”add more lime for tang, sugar for sweetness, or sriracha for heat.

  • Serve:
Use immediately or store in the fridge for up to 5 days. Warm slightly and stir before serving if chilled.

Notes

  • Great with grilled chicken, tofu, shrimp, or tossed with noodles.

  • For a creamier texture, blend in a splash of coconut milk.

  • Make it gluten-free with tamari instead of soy sauce.
