Ingredients
For the Muffins:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Coating:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Preheat & Prep:
Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease or line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners. -
Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. Set aside. -
Cream Butter & Sugar:
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. -
Add Wet Ingredients:
Beat in the egg, then add the vanilla extract. Mix until well combined. -
Combine Wet & Dry:
Alternately add the dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combinedโdonโt overmix. -
Bake:
Divide the batter evenly into the muffin tin, filling each cup about ยพ full. Bake for 18-22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. -
Coat in Cinnamon Sugar:
Let the muffins cool slightly. Dip each warm muffin in melted butter, then roll in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon. -

Notes
- For extra flavor, add ยฝ teaspoon of cinnamon to the batter.
