For the Dough:
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast (1 packet)
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup warm milk (110ยฐF/43ยฐC)
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 egg
For the Garlic Butter Topping:
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Make the Dough:
- In a small bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5โ10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8โ10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Alternatively, use a stand mixer with a dough hook for 5โ6 minutes.
- First Rise:
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1โ2 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Shape the Rolls:
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal portions. Roll each piece into a ball and place them on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet, spaced slightly apart.
- Second Rise:
- Cover the rolls with a towel and let them rise for another 30โ40 minutes until puffy.
- Prepare Garlic Butter:
- While the rolls rise, mix melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
- Bake the Rolls:
- Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Brush the rolls with garlic butter, reserving some for after baking.
- Bake the rolls for 15โ18 minutes or until golden brown.
- Finish and Serve:
- Brush the hot rolls with the remaining garlic butter. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra cheesy rolls, sprinkle shredded mozzarella or parmesan cheese on top before baking.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving.
