- 8 ounces (225g) spaghetti or noodles of choice
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water, then drain the noodles.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sautรฉ for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to let it burn.
- Stir in the red pepper flakes if using, followed by the cooked noodles. Toss to coat evenly.
- Add the reserved pasta water, a little at a time, to create a silky sauce.
- Mix in the Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve immediately.
