Description

A warm and gooey grilled peanut butter banana sandwich with crispy golden bread and sweet, caramelized bananasโ€”perfect for breakfast, snack, or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slices hearty sandwich bread (whole wheat, sourdough, or brioche)
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
  • 1 ripe banana, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter, for spreading on bread

Instructions

  1. Spread peanut butter generously on one side of each slice of bread.
  2. Layer sliced bananas over one slice and top with the other to form a sandwich.
  3. Spread a thin layer of butter on the outside of both slices of the sandwich.
  4. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Grill the sandwich for 2-3 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until golden brown and the peanut butter is melty.
  5. Remove from skillet, let cool for a minute, slice in half, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use a non-stick skillet for an even golden crust.
  • Keep the heat at medium to avoid burning and ensure the inside gets warm and melty.
  • Press the sandwich lightly with a spatula to meld the ingredients.
  • Optional additions: honey, maple syrup, chocolate chips, Nutella, cinnamon, or alternative nut butters like almond or sunflower seed.
