Description
A warm and gooey grilled peanut butter banana sandwich with crispy golden bread and sweet, caramelized bananasโperfect for breakfast, snack, or dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 slices hearty sandwich bread (whole wheat, sourdough, or brioche)
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
- 1 ripe banana, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon butter, for spreading on bread
Instructions
- Spread peanut butter generously on one side of each slice of bread.
- Layer sliced bananas over one slice and top with the other to form a sandwich.
- Spread a thin layer of butter on the outside of both slices of the sandwich.
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Grill the sandwich for 2-3 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until golden brown and the peanut butter is melty.
- Remove from skillet, let cool for a minute, slice in half, and serve warm.
Notes
- Use a non-stick skillet for an even golden crust.
- Keep the heat at medium to avoid burning and ensure the inside gets warm and melty.
- Press the sandwich lightly with a spatula to meld the ingredients.
- Optional additions: honey, maple syrup, chocolate chips, Nutella, cinnamon, or alternative nut butters like almond or sunflower seed.
