Description

Grilled Watermelon is a unique and refreshing twist on a summer fruit, bringing out a smoky-sweet flavor with caramelized grill marks that’s perfect as a side or appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 small seedless watermelon, cut into 1-inch thick wedges
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.
  2. Brush both sides of watermelon wedges with olive oil.
  3. Sprinkle with sea salt and black pepper.
  4. Place watermelon wedges on the grill and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, or until grill marks appear.
  5. Remove from grill and drizzle with lime juice if using.
  6. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Grilling enhances the sweetness of watermelon—don’t overcook or it will get mushy.
  • Try adding a sprinkle of chili powder for a spicy kick.
  • Can be served as a side dish, appetizer, or light dessert.
