- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 packet (about 1 oz/28 g) taco seasoning
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) water
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1 1/2 cups (150 g) shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup (100 g) shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 2 tbsp (30 g) unsalted butter or oil
- Optional toppings: salsa, sour cream, guacamole
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until no longer pink, breaking it apart.
- Add taco seasoning and water, stir, and simmer until sauce thickens, about 3โ4 minutes.
- Remove beef from skillet and set aside.
- Wipe skillet clean and heat over medium-low.
- Place a tortilla in skillet, sprinkle half with a mix of cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese.
- Spoon one-quarter of the seasoned beef over the cheese, then add a bit more cheese on top.
- Fold tortilla over to enclose filling.
- Cook 2โ3 minutes per side until golden brown and cheese melts, pressing gently with a spatula.
- Remove and let rest 1 minute before slicing into wedges.
- Repeat with remaining tortillas and filling.
- Serve warm with optional toppings.
