Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula.
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about ยผ-inch thickness. Use heart-shaped cookie cutters to cut out cookies and place them on the prepared baking sheets.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Avoid overbaking for soft cookies.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
