- 1 (3.4 oz) box instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 1/2 cups cold milk
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 (8 oz) container whipped topping (such as Cool Whip), thawed
Instructions
- Prepare the pudding mixture: In a medium bowl, whisk together the instant pudding mix, cold milk, and sour cream until smooth. Let it set for about 5 minutes to thicken.
- Assemble the layers:
- Spread half of the cubed angel food cake in the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish.
- Spoon half of the cherry pie filling evenly over the cake layer.
- Spread half of the pudding mixture on top of the cherry layer.
- Add the remaining angel food cake cubes as the next layer.
- Top with the remaining pudding mixture and spread it evenly.
- Finish with topping: Spread the whipped topping over the pudding layer.
- Add the final touch: Spoon dollops of the remaining cherry pie filling over the whipped topping and gently swirl for a marbled effect, if desired.
- Chill and serve: Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until fully chilled. Slice into squares and serve.
Notes
- You can substitute the cherry pie filling with other flavors, like blueberry or strawberry, for variety.
