Description

Oreo Balls are a simple and indulgent no-bake treat featuring crushed Oreo cookies blended with cream cheese, scooped into bite-sized truffles, and dipped in rich chocolate. Perfect for parties, gifts, or whenever you need a quick, sweet fix, these Oreo Balls require just a handful of ingredients and come together in under an hour.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Oreo Balls

  • 36 Oreo cookies (about 1 package)
  • 8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened

For Coating

  • 12 oz (340g) semisweet or white chocolate chips, melted
  • Optional: sprinkles or extra crushed Oreos for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Oreo mixture: Place Oreo cookies in a food processor and blend until you achieve fine crumbs. Alternatively, place cookies in a zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin. Transfer the crumbs to a large bowl.
  2. Mix with cream cheese: Add softened cream cheese to the Oreo crumbs. Mix thoroughly with a spatula or electric mixer until well combined and a thick dough forms. The mixture should be uniform in color with no streaks of cream cheese.
  3. Form the balls: Using a tablespoon or small cookie scoop, scoop out portions of the mixture and roll between your hands to form 1-inch balls. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Chill the balls: Transfer the baking sheet to the freezer for about 20 minutes or until the Oreo balls are firm. This will make them easier to dip in chocolate and help them retain their shape.
  5. Dip in chocolate: Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth. Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted chocolate, letting any excess drip off. Place back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Decorate and set: While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle with optional decorations such as sprinkles or extra Oreo crumbs. Let the coated Oreo balls sit at room temperature or chill in the refrigerator until the chocolate is set, about 15–20 minutes.

Notes

  • Be sure to fully blend the cream cheese and Oreo crumbs for the best texture.
  • For a flavor twist, try using Golden Oreos, peanut butter Oreos, or other sandwich cookie varieties.
  • Oreo Balls can be made ahead and kept chilled for up to 2 weeks or frozen for up to 2 months.
  • If you want a thinner coating, add 1 teaspoon of coconut oil or vegetable shortening to the melted chocolate.
