Ingredients
-
4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
-
2 tablespoons olive oil
-
2 tablespoons butter
-
4 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tablespoon lemon juice
-
1 teaspoon lemon zest
-
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
-
Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
-
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
-
Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.
-
Once the skillet is hot, add the salmon fillets, skin side down, and cook for 4-5 minutes without moving them. This helps to create a crispy skin.
-
Flip the salmon fillets and cook for another 3-4 minutes, until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Remove the salmon from the skillet and set aside.
-
In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
-
Stir in the lemon juice and lemon zest, allowing the sauce to simmer for 1-2 minutes.
-
Return the salmon fillets to the skillet and spoon the garlic butter sauce over them. Let the salmon soak in the flavors for another 1-2 minutes.
-
Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley and lemon slices, if desired.
-
Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes.
Notes
-
For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic butter sauce for some heat.
-
Serve with roasted vegetables, rice, or a simple salad for a complete meal.
-
If you prefer crispy skin, avoid flipping the salmon too early in the cooking process and allow the skin to crisp up.
