  • 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon pepper seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust based on seasoning brand)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prep the chicken:ย Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel. If they are very thick, pound them lightly to an even thickness.
  2. Season:ย Rub both sides of the chicken with lemon pepper seasoning, salt, and garlic powder.
  3. Cook the chicken:
    • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Add the chicken and cook for 5-6 minutes on one side, without moving, until golden brown.
    • Flip the chicken, reduce the heat to medium, and add the butter, lemon juice, and zest.
    • Cook for another 5-6 minutes, occasionally spooning the butter sauce over the chicken, until it reaches an internal temperature ofย 165ยฐF (75ยฐC).
  4. Rest and serve:ย Remove the chicken from the heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Garnish with parsley and serve with your favorite sides!

Notes

  • If using store-bought lemon pepper seasoning, check for added salt and adjust accordingly.
  • This recipe works great with chicken thighs as well! Just adjust cooking time as needed.
  • For an oven-baked version, bake atย 400ยฐF (200ยฐC) for 20-25 minutes, then broil for a crispy top.
