For the Waffles:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour

- 1 tsp baking powder

- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
For the Burger Patties:
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
Toppings:
- 6 slices crispy bacon
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp butter (for toasting waffles)
- 2 fried eggs (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Make the Waffles
- Preheat your waffle iron.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
- Cook the batter in the waffle iron until golden brown. Set aside.
Step 2: Cook the Bacon
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the bacon until crispy, then place it on paper towels to drain excess grease.
Step 3: Make the Burger Patties
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Divide the beef into 2 equal patties and shape them slightly larger than the waffles.
- Cook the patties in the same skillet over medium-high heat for about 3-4 minutes per side or until desired doneness.
- In the last minute of cooking, add a slice of cheddar cheese on top and let it melt.
Step 4: Assemble the Burger
- Butter the waffles and lightly toast them in a pan.
- Place a waffle on the plate as the bottom bun.
- Add the beef patty with melted cheese.
