Description

A hearty, savory pullโ€‘apart bread stuffed with seasoned ground beef, pepperoni, and a trio of cheeses, perfect for game day or a crowdโ€‘pleasing appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano + 1/8 tsp for topping
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 jar (about 1 cup) pizza sauce, divided
  • 1 tube (13.8 oz) refrigerated pizza dough
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 1/3 cup (about 2 oz) thinโ€‘sliced pepperoni
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 Tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400โ€ฏยฐF.
  2. Cook ground beef with ยฝโ€ฏtsp oregano, garlic powder, and salt until browned; drain and stir in โ…“โ€ฏcup pizza sauce. Set aside.
  3. Unroll pizza dough on a baking sheet into a rectangle.
  4. Spread remaining ยฝโ€ฏcup pizza sauce down the center of the dough.
  5. Layer provolone, pepperoni, beef mixture, then mozzarella down the center.
  6. Cut 1โ€‘inch strips along both sides of the dough toward filling.
  7. Braid the dough strips over the filling.
  8. Brush braid with melted butter, sprinkle with Parmesan and remaining oregano.
  9. Bake for 20โ€“25โ€ฏminutes until golden and cooked through.
  10. Warm leftover sauce for dipping. Let bread cool 5โ€ฏminutes, slice, and serve.
