For the Taco Shells
- 6 small flour tortillas
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
For the Pizza Sauce
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)
For the Meat Lovers Filling
- 1/3 cup cooked Italian sausage, crumbled
- 1/3 cup cooked ground beef
- 1/4 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1/4 cup cooked and chopped bacon
For the Toppings
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup diced red onion (optional)
- 1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley or basil (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Taco Shells: Preheat oven to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC). Brush both sides of the tortillas with olive oil. Drape them over the rungs of your oven rack or place them in taco molds so they hang and hold their shape. Bake for 7-9 minutes, until crisp and golden. Let cool slightly.
- Cook the Meats: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the Italian sausage and ground beef until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat. If not already cooked, prepare and chop bacon, then slice pepperoni.
- Assemble the Tacos: Spread a spoonful of pizza sauce into each crispy tortilla shell. Layer in the ground beef, sausage, bacon, and pepperoni, dividing equally among the shells.
- Add Cheese and Toppings: Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the meats. Add red onion and black olives if using.
- Melt and Finish: Return filled tacos to the oven and bake for 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove from oven and let cool for a minute.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with chopped parsley or basil for a fresh touch. Serve hot with extra pizza sauce for dipping if desired.
Notes
- Customize with your favorite pizza toppingsโtry mushrooms, peppers, or jalapenos for a twist.
- For a crisper shell, don’t overload with sauce to avoid sogginess.
- Make it gluten free by using gluten-free tortillas.
- Great for meal prep: Prepare the meats ahead and assemble before baking.
