Description

Meat Lovers Pizza Tacos combine all your favorite pizza meats—like pepperoni, sausage, and bacon—inside a crispy taco shell with a cheesy, saucy filling. It’s an easy, crave-worthy dinner that brings together the best of pizza night and taco Tuesday, perfect for sharing with friends or family.

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Taco Shells

  • 8 small flour tortillas
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

For the Filling

  • 1/2 pound Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices, quartered
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

For Topping and Assembly

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Taco Shells – Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Brush each tortilla lightly on both sides with olive oil. Drape tortillas over two bars of an oven rack to shape into a taco shell. Bake for 6-8 minutes, until golden and lightly crispy. Remove and cool.
  2. Cook the Meats – In a large skillet over medium-high heat, crumble in the Italian sausage. Cook, stirring until browned and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes. Drain excess fat. Add chopped bacon and pepperoni, cooking for 2-3 minutes more to crisp the pepperoni.
  3. Add Sauce and Seasoning – Reduce the heat to medium-low, stir in pizza sauce, oregano, and garlic powder. Simmer everything together for 2-3 minutes until hot and well combined. Remove from heat.
  4. Fill and Top the Tacos – Spoon the meat mixture evenly into each taco shell. Sprinkle generously with shredded mozzarella and a little Parmesan.
  5. Bake the Tacos – Arrange filled tacos upright in a baking dish lined with foil. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 5-7 minutes, just until cheese is melty and bubbly.
  6. Finish and Serve – Let tacos cool for 2 minutes. Top with chopped fresh basil or parsley if desired. Enjoy hot!

Notes

  • You can use store-bought hard taco shells for a shortcut.
  • Swap out meats based on what you have—try Canadian bacon, ham, or ground beef.
  • Make ahead: Prepare filling in advance; assemble and bake just before serving.
  • Add your favorite pizza toppings like olives or bell peppers for extra flavor.
