This slow cooker dish is incredibly easy to make and packed with flavor, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (1 oz)
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix (1 oz)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • 68 pepperoncini peppers
  • 1/4 cup pepperoncini juice (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning and au jus mix evenly over the chicken.
  3. Add the pepperoncini peppers on top of the chicken. Pour the pepperoncini juice (if using) over the chicken for extra flavor.
  4. Place the butter on top of the chicken breasts.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the chicken is tender and can be easily shredded.
  6. Once cooked, shred the chicken with two forks inside the slow cooker and mix it with the juices.
  7. Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, or in sandwiches. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For a spicier dish, you can add extra pepperoncini or a splash of hot sauce.
  • This recipe works well with chicken thighs if you prefer darker meat.
  • You can use the Mississippi Chicken as a filling for sliders or tacos as well.
