Description

These Monte Cristo-style breakfast sliders are a delicious twist on the classic sandwich, perfect for brunch or an indulgent morning meal. Featuring layers of ham, turkey, and cheese, sandwiched between sweet Hawaiian rolls, dipped in egg batter, and cooked until golden brown. A dusting of powdered sugar and a drizzle of maple syrup elevate these sliders to breakfast perfection.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 12 Hawaiian rolls (cut in half)
  • 6 slices of deli ham
  • 6 slices of deli turkey
  • 6 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 6 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • Maple syrup (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Assemble the sliders: Lay the bottom halves of the Hawaiian rolls on the prepared baking sheet. Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on the bottom half. Top with a slice of ham, turkey, Swiss cheese, and cheddar cheese. Place the top half of the rolls over the fillings.
  3. Prepare the egg batter: In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs and milk until smooth.
  4. Dip the sliders: Carefully dip each slider into the egg batter, making sure to coat both sides. Place the sliders back on the baking sheet.
  5. Bake the sliders: Melt the butter and brush it over the tops of the sliders. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the sliders are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  6. Serve: Dust the sliders with powdered sugar and serve with maple syrup for dipping.

Notes

  • You can substitute the ham or turkey with your favorite deli meats.
  • For extra flavor, add a thin layer of cranberry sauce or jam inside the sliders.
