Old School Pizza Burgers combine the nostalgic flavors of pizza and burgers in one easy, cheesy, open-faced sandwich that’s perfect for quick dinners and family meals.

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 hamburger buns, split
- Optional: 16 slices pepperoni
- Optional: 2 tbsp melted butter for brushing buns
Instructions
- Preheat the oven broiler. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.
- Add pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder to the skillet. Stir to combine and let simmer for 5 minutes.
- Place the hamburger bun halves on a baking sheet, cut side up. Optionally, brush with melted butter.
- Spoon the beef and sauce mixture evenly onto each bun half.
- Top each with shredded mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices if using.
- Broil for 1โ2 minutes, watching closely, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm.
Notes
- Use firmer buns or toast them first to prevent sogginess.
- Keep a close eye when broiling to avoid burning the cheese.
- You can double the batch and freeze extras for later meals.
