Description

Old School Pizza Burgers combine the nostalgic flavors of pizza and burgers in one easy, cheesy, open-faced sandwich that’s perfect for quick dinners and family meals.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns, split
  • Optional: 16 slices pepperoni
  • Optional: 2 tbsp melted butter for brushing buns

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven broiler. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.
  2. Add pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder to the skillet. Stir to combine and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Place the hamburger bun halves on a baking sheet, cut side up. Optionally, brush with melted butter.
  4. Spoon the beef and sauce mixture evenly onto each bun half.
  5. Top each with shredded mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices if using.
  6. Broil for 1โ€“2 minutes, watching closely, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm.
