- 2 cups elbow macaroni (or any short pasta)
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, add the pasta, water, and milk. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently to prevent the pasta from sticking to the bottom.
- Reduce the heat to low and let the pasta cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until itโs tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
- Once the pasta is cooked, stir in the butter, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Continue to stir until the cheese has melted and the sauce is thick and creamy.
- Remove from heat and let it sit for a couple of minutes to thicken before serving.
